About Nicola Bonfanti

Thanks for joining me here.  A little bit about myself: After my first degree I started my career as a teacher in secondary schools. Then I went inter-railing and ended up in Italy for 6 years where I taught English, got a job with a publishing company and ended up as the Sales and Marketing Manager for Longman Italia running my own sales team and teacher training conferences in Italian. Great job and great country.

Then I moved back to the UK and became Regional Manager for Eastern Europe for the Pearson Group, covering 15 countries 50+ staff and distributors in all of those countries. That involved a lot of pioneering work in overseas countries where few Westerners had been before.

I moved to Reed to work for an electronic imprint, covering my favourite countries in Southern Europe. But I was soon promoted to Sales and Marketing Director and ended up doing a lot of long-haul travel to Asia and USA where I learnt a lot about digital publishing, overseas sales and distribution and sales management.


I also completed my MBA during this time and stayed on with the Open University as a Lecturer in Management, which is still my “Saturday job” today, 12 years later.

During my 15 years in corporate life I achieved promotion or a new job almost every year, training up and coaching new managers along the way.

I got a taste for Management Training and moved to a training company where I organised the Management, Sales and Marketing training but wanted to have a go myself. So from 2000 I have run my own companies; Management and Creative Thinking Training, Executive Coaching, Business Coaching for SMEs, an Italian school etc., combined with looking after our daughter (currently 10 years old).

In 2010 I established Manage2improve – a Training and Coaching business for improving management skills. I now provide creative and results-oriented management training and coaching, particularly for companies and managers based in Surrey, London and the South-East of England.

With an MBA, an honours degree in Communication Studies, a PGC in Education, and training qualifications, I am passionate about learning and training.

I have put my 20 years management experience and 10 years training experience into creating effective courses on creative management, sales excellence, and other courses that help tackle the challenges facing businesses today.

A lot of that experience has gone into my book “Superhero Sales Manager”, which you can download free here. I regularly give talks and run training programmes on finding the Superhero Manager within all of us.
